Talking to Scott Snyder and Jeff Lemire On “A.D.”

Posted by TymeHunter on November 23, 2016

For quite some time I’ve been meaning to talk to Scott Snyder in an interview capacity. That said, I’ve also wanted to talk to Jeff Lemire; they’re both masters of their craft, so why wouldn’t I? So when the chance came to interview them both, at the same time, how could I possibly refuse? I couldn’t. And so I interviewed them, asking questions and receiving incredibly poignant answers. I should like to add that you’d be hard-pressed to find two nicer individuals than Scott Snyder and Jeff Lemire. They are gentlemen through and through, with plenty of wisdom to impart and an equal amount of kindness and patience. Today, well, November 23, 2016 to be precise, their comic A.D. After Death was released. I picked it up and at the very least, I encourage you to take a peak at it. While I’m at it, I might suggest you check out my interview with them over at Bleeding Cool !

Talking to Jeff Lemire About “Black Hammer”

Posted by TymeHunter on July 15, 2016

Jeff Lemire is a creator with not only a tremendous body of work, but a tremendous body of GOOD work. Readers flock to his stories, if only because they are so rich and unique; his writing constantly feels fresh and original. From your typical superhero books to the weird and bizarre in the indie universes he occasionally delves in, Mr. Lemire has talent, pure and simple. His latest comic, Black Hammer, published by Dark Horse Comics, is everything you’d expect from Lemire. Having already read the first issue, I can tell you it’s certainly worth your money if you’re in the market for an atypical superhero comic. I was lucky enough to interview Mr. Lemire about his work and you can check out my interview over at Bleeding Cool !

“Animal Man” Comes To An End

Posted by TymeHunter on March 22, 2014

On Wednesday, Jeff Lemire’s Animal Man concluded. By that I mean the series officially ended. Truly a sad occurrence, I will solemnly miss the adventures of Buddy Baker, fighting his way through the horrors and nightmares the Red and Rot offered. Not really a superhero comic book in the classical sense, the series delved more into horror and fantasy, and doing a superb job of it along the way. Rich with characterization and marvelous storytelling, Animal Man is a book for those people who doubt the comic book medium. While not the end for Mr. Jeff Lemire, who will be going on to write Justice League United, it’s notable that he was able to take a B-list character and make him special. Prior to his run, your average citizen certainly wouldn’t have known about the character, even now they probably don’t, but the exposure Buddy Baker, former Hollywood stuntman who acquires animal powers, received was exceptional. I will miss Animal Man. It was different, unique, and represented the types of risks good writers can and should take, creating entire worlds, while making everything work like a beautifully orchestrated symphony.
