Yes, yes, and double yes!! Finally! At last, I am finally excited for this movie! The previous trailer was kind of eh, but this one…holy crap! It had everything we wanted and so much more! Batman, Superman, Lex Luthor, Doomsday…and did I see Wonder Woman?! Yes, yes I did!

“Gotham” Assembles Its Own Suicide Squad

Posted by TymeHunter on September 7, 2015

The latest promo clip for the upcoming second season of Gotham showcases something a bit different. Or maybe it’s not all that different, I’m just perplexed by what’s going on. Clearly the show has decided to hell with the movies; if Gotham wants its own Suicide Squad, then by golly, Gotham is going to get its own Suicide Squad. With every episode and every clip released, Gotham becomes kookier by the minute. Obviously the show doesn’t take itself seriously, and, hopefully, doesn’t expect the audience to either. At this point, it’s all like a Jackson Pollock painting, but with no clear indication about what’s going on, or what will lead to what. Though on some level, I’m okay with that.

“Gotham” Season 2 Teaser Trailer

Posted by TymeHunter on July 23, 2015

The villains are here to stay! Kind of like Gotham. Love it or hate it, the superhero show that isn’t really a superhero show is moving on to its second season. The teaser trailer above is just that, a teaser. With a bunch of villains running about and Jim Gordon and the rest of the GCPD failing to catch them for about the next 20 years until Batman shows up, you have to wonder why Gotham’s citizens continue paying taxes. One of the trailers highlights? The return of Cameron Monaghan as Jerome a.k.a. (maybe) The Joker?! Only time will tell.

Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman Get Makeovers!

Posted by TymeHunter on March 13, 2015

With DC’s Convergence nearly upon us, news about the status quo for DC Comics’s favorite superheroes has been released. At least with regards to the new uniforms they’ll be donning. As you can see in the images here, Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman are all getting redesigned. But are their costumes better or worse for it? Personally, I’m not a fan of bunny-ears-mecha- Batman and Superman looks like he’s not even trying anymore. He also appears…angry, what with blood-soaked hands and all. Maybe Supes is going through a grunge phase or something.

As for Wonder Woman? She’s the most tolerable of the bunch, at least in my opinion, but those boots? What are with those boots? And the wrist spikes? Will she be impaling folks now? Is that going to be a thing in the Wonder Woman books? I’m sure everything will be explained, but for the meantime, I think it’s fair that we gripe and complain until we get answers!

“Batman: Arkham Knight” trailer- “Gotham Is Mine”

Posted by TymeHunter on February 25, 2015

There’s been plenty of buzz surrounding Rocksteady’s upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight, especially within the last twenty-four hours, as it was revealed the game would receive a “M” for Mature rating as per the ESRB. This is a first, as every previous Batman game received a “T” for Teen. Anyway, a new trailer surfaced today featuring plenty more storyline and showcasing a lot more action. Suffice to say, I would like to hold this game in my hands as soon as possible.

Batman vs. Darth Vader

Posted by TymeHunter on November 25, 2014

Yup, you read that correctly. MachinimaPrime’s newest Super Power Beatdown episode features the Dark Knight versus Vader. I’m sure someone somewhere has already written a tremendous amount of fan fiction on said match-up, but here you go. A huge amount of time, energy and fun clearly went into this video, and personally, I think the right character won, albeit the fight lasted a little longer than it should have. Anyway, I won’t spoil the entertainment that follows, so check it out and see who wins!

“Nightwing: The Series” Takes Off!

Posted by TymeHunter on August 20, 2014

The lovely Youtube channel ismahawk has finally released their trailer for an upcoming Nightwing series! This is exciting for multiple reasons, the first of which being that it looks incredibly awesome! Featuring other familiar faces like Oracle, Deathstroke, and Bruce Wayne, these guys know what they’re doing, as comic book fans themselves, and are aware about what the fans want. They’ve recently done a couple interviews, like on IGN, and it’s abundantly clear that they are as passionate, if not more so, as other fans of the characters and stories. Coming out next month, the series is only slated for a few episodes, but until one of the bigger TV networks decides to include Nightwing in a television show, I am more than happy to sit back and watch what ismahawk has to offer!

SDCC Review: “Gotham”

Posted by TymeHunter on August 3, 2014

While at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, I had the opportunity to watch the pilots for the upcoming Gotham, The Flash, and Constantine. These are my general thoughts.

Gotham City, a wretched place, full to the brim with corruption, murder, and lies. It takes a unique man to live in such a city, and an even stronger one to try and tame it. Introducing Detective James Gordon, a bright-eyed, but tough-as-nails cop, hell-bent on establishing some semblance of order to the beast that is Gotham.

Before Batman and his various rouges, there was James Gordon. That’s the basic premise of the new Gotham TV show. If you’ve seen the trailer, then you’ve already gotten the show’s basic essence. We have a young Bruce Wayne, reeling after his parents’ murder, a young Selina Kyle struggling to make a living on a the streets, a Penguin who hasn’t quite risen into the echelons of criminal society, and a whole cast of characters, starting out at the very beginning of their respective paths. All the while, the only character capable of bringing about any order is Gordon, but without the Batman to help him, it’s all he can do to stay alive and stay one step ahead of the criminals he pursues.

I had absolutely no doubt about the show going in, but after viewing Gotham, I’m even more convinced that this show will be a game-changer. There aren’t any superhero-themed shows quite like it; with no capes, no powers, and only characters at their most raw, Gotham offers a different and unique perspective. It works only because it doesn’t try to follow any of the conventional rules set by previous comic book movies or television shows, rather taking an entirely obtuse spin, and focusing on heroes and villains at points in their lives that people generally ignore.

Here we get to see a young Gordon and a much younger Bruce Wayne, meeting for the first time, cementing their relationship for years to come. We discover why Penguin became the crime boss he did, Poison Ivy’s childhood, Catwoman’s introduction to Bruce, and so much more. Not everyone starts in the place you expect, and it’s clear that our fine cast of characters will evolve by leaps and bounds by the time all is said and done.

Speaking of cast, whoever was responsible for casting Gotham deserves numerous accolades. Benjamin McKenzie as Gordon, young David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, the list goes on and on. Every actor encapsulates their characters with splendid precision that after just the first episode, I’m left wondering how anyone else could have played the roles.

Coming to televisions on FOX on September 22, 2014, Gotham will knock all its competitors out, leaving it standing victorious. If the pilot episode alone left such an impression on me, and the rest of the audience I viewed it with, I’m fascinated to see where the show goes. I hope it maintains the level of fresh and innovative thinking that made the first episode great and that makes Batman, and Gotham City, legendary.

Brace Yourself for “Gotham”

Posted by TymeHunter on May 15, 2014

I’m a little late on the uptake, but better late than never I suppose. Can I just comment on how thrilled I am that Gotham actually looks great? I didn’t think I would be all-too interested in a story involving a kid Bruce Wayne and a wet-behind-the-ears Jim Gordon. Boy, have I been proved wrong. Anyway, there’s not much I can say that the trailer won’t spell out for you. So with that said, enjoy!

“Batman: Assault On Arkham” Animated Trailer

Posted by TymeHunter on April 18, 2014

There hasn’t been much information released about the upcoming Batman: Assault on Arkham, like a release date or anything of the like, but the movie does contain the Suicide Squad, Batman, and the Joker. I’m sold.
