Thor: Ragnarok Teaser Trailer Arrives With A Bang

Posted by TymeHunter on April 10, 2017

And we’re back! It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything here, butĀ it’s my blog and that’s life sometimes. Anyway, the new teaser trailer for Thor: Ragnorak hit the net today and I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting to be as bowled over as I was! Cate Blanchett as Hela makes all the sense in the world to me; there’s so much going on in the trailer that it’s hard to talk about all of it! You just have to watch it for yourself! I will say, seeing Thor getting his classic helmet back was one of the highlights for me!

New “Jessica Jones” Trailer!

Posted by TymeHunter on October 23, 2015

Finally! I, like many comic fans, haveĀ been waiting a while for the new Jessica Jones trailer. We’ve seen a few teasers here and there, but nothing really showcasing the show or what we can expect. That all changed today when Marvel released the trailer. While not my favorite superhero, if you can even call Jessica Jones a superhero, it’s hard not to be impressed by the footage. While it’s cool to finally see Luke Cage, David Tennant as the mind-controlling Purple Man stole the show! We get to see the scope of the villain’s power and his sinister nature; only popping out of the shadows briefly, Tennant’s voice is enough to make us fearful for anyone and everyone. Coming out on November 20th, prepare to lock yourself inĀ that weekend for some serious binge watching. If Jessica Jones is anything like Daredevil in quality, then we’re all going to be very happy.

“Deadpool and Cable” Cover Honors “Back to the Future” Day

Posted by TymeHunter on October 21, 2015

Marvel Comics decided to celebrate the highly anticipated Back the the Future Day, byĀ featuring artist Reilly Brown’s Deadpool and Cable: Split Second #2 cover. Obviously paying tribute to the awe-inspiring film series, it makes sense, in a bizarre way, for these characters to be time traveling in a DeLorean. If you want to check out the book, the first issue is readable online hereĀ as a digital-first comic.

The Inhumans Get A New Look

Posted by TymeHunter on September 26, 2015

At least Black Bolt and the Human Torch do. With Uncanny Inhumans just overĀ the horizon, as Marvel continues to try and push the motley team of heroes on its readers, the characters are getting some new duds. As you can see, Black Bolt looks like he got off the set of a Michael Bay movie, forced to glide down in one of those wing-suits against Transformers. And Johnny? I guess it works? I wish I had something to witty to say, but I’ll just shrug my shoulders with a resounding eh and be done with it.

“X-Men ’92” To Be Ongoing Comic!

Posted by TymeHunter on September 26, 2015

The 90s were a grand ol’ time! Well, not always, but the decade did produce one of the most beloved superhero cartoons of all time: X-Men. Since then, people have been trying to recapture the nostalgia in an effort to re-live the magic. Fortunately, Marvel heard its fans. At first just a Secret Wars tie-in miniseries, X-Men ’92 will be continuing as an ongoing series in spring of 2016! Both Chad Bowers and Chris Sims will be returning to write the series and deliver all the 90s goodness, heroes and villains included, we could possibly hope for!

“Jessica Jones” Teaser Trailer

Posted by TymeHunter on September 26, 2015

Or at the least the second teaser trailer. I’m not sure. No matter, what’s important is that we get some real time footage, as opposed to the psychedelic teaser from a couple weeks ago. Either way, there really isn’t much to see, with the highlight being the last couple seconds. To the average viewer, it might come across as a surprise, to a comics fan, not so much.

Get Ready For Marvel’s New “New Avengers”

Posted by TymeHunter on September 2, 2015

Or is it the New, New, New Avengers? I’ve lost count as to how many New Avengers teams there’sĀ been in the last couple years. A good many, I’ll tell you that. Even so, Marvel shared their plans for their upcoming New Avengers title and it definitely is a “new” take on the team. Written by Al Ewing, a personal favorite Ā comic book writer of mine, with artwork by Gerardo Sandoval, the New Avengers will feature the heroes Hawkeye, Sunspot, Songbird, Wiccan, Squirrel Girl, and Hulking (and probably a few others if I had to guess). While thisĀ cast of characters areĀ folks one might not initially round upĀ to composeĀ an Avengers group, I’m curious and excited to see what Ewing will do with this motley crew.

“Deadpool” Red-Band Trailer Is Here!

Posted by TymeHunter on August 4, 2015

Turns out, today was the day of the second trailer’s release. Regardless, I cannot fathom an appropriate response to the level of greatness that you and I have just witnessed. Unfortunately, some of the San Diego Comic Con footage is not in this particular trailer, but that’s okay, you get the general flavor of the movie. Besides, if you’re going toĀ end up seeing the movie anyway, then don’t worry about it. Just know that more fantastical goodness lies in wait!

Marvel Announces Kid-Friendly Spider-Man Comic Series

Posted by TymeHunter on July 28, 2015

AndĀ why not? This isn’t the first time Marvel has played this respective card, with a Spidey! series having been done back in the 80s by Marvel UK. Regardless, some say comics have gotten too serious in recent days and are no longer kid-friendly. On some level, I can agree with this argument, but since I’m no longer a child, it doesn’t really affect me too much. Even so, I support kids readingĀ comic books, especially Spider-Man themed comics, as he was my gateway superhero.

Spidey! will focus on a high-school Peter Parker and according to the Marvel’s advertisement blurb, the seriesĀ is,Ā “Charting the four-colored time machine through is writer Robbie Thompson (Silk) and artist Nick Bradshaw (Wolverine and the X-Men). Together, the creative team will swing headfirst into Stan Lee and Steve Ditkoā€™s famed era of Spider-Man stories, while honoring other Spider-Man heavyweights like Todd McFarlane, Dan Slott, Gerry Conway, and more. But one constant that readers can count on in this in-continuity series, however, are iconic villains, the old Parker Luck, and brand-new legends of its own. And harkening even closer to the silver age of Marvel storytelling, each issue of Spidey will carry a one-and-done format, giving new, lapsed, or veteran readers clean and accessible Spider-Man stories unburdened by continuity”.Ā So there you have it! All-Ages or otherwise, I’m going to at least be checking out the first issue!

Spider-Woman Is Pregnant?!

Posted by TymeHunter on June 30, 2015

Plenty of Marvel’s covers for their upcoming run of All-New, All-Different tiles have been trickling their way online. Many have garnered significant attention. Case in point? The one featuring a pregnant Jessica Drew, a.k.a. Spider-Woman. I didn’t see that coming. Actually, I don’t think anyone saw that coming. With the tagline being, “Parent by day. Hero by night,” I’m sure Child Services, or at least somebody, is going to have a problem with a pregnant woman swinging around the city at night, fighting all manner of super villains. That seems irresponsible, especially when pregnant! I can’t be the only one to think so. Anyway, we’ll have to wait until October, when issue one ships until we can see what’s what.
