One of these days humanity is going to make the journey to Mars. Until that time, Hulu will try and satiate that itch for space exploration with their upcoming series The First. Centering on actor Sean Penn and a small group of astronauts, The First is about this band of humans attempting to become the first to colonize Mars.
The story takes place in the relatively near future, and all things considered, the initial trailer is a relatively engaging one. More than anything, the show will look into the emotional toll each astronaut endures even before they make it to the red planet.
Eight episodes in its entirety, The First premieres on September 14th.
