Valiant Entertainment is slowly becoming a force to be reckoned with. With already a healthy slew of engaging and well-written comics featuring outstanding characters, the company first came to be back in the early ‘90s. One of the company’s most popular antiheroes was Bloodshot. Created by Bob Layton, Kevin VanHook, and Don Perlin, Ray Garrison was an ex-soldier who wound up with nanities in his bloodstream that gave him a superhuman healing factor and other powers. Unfortunately, Ray suffered from memory loss because of the procedure and went on a blood-soaked mission to uncover his identity. Valiant is now making a movie based off the comic series.
Earlier this year, actor Vin Diesel signed on for the leading role as the superhuman assassin, and only last month it was reported that the movie was about to enter production. This morning, Diesel went on Instagram and announced that production on Bloodshot had officially started.
Working in tandem with Sony Pictures, Valiant is making sure Bloodshot isn’t the only one of their characters to head to the big screen. Having signed a five-picture deal with the movie studio, other heroes expected to join Valiant’s cinematic universe are Harbinger, Faith, along with a crossover between Bloodshot and Harbinger.
Directed by Dave Wilson and starring Vin Diesel, Bloodshot is slated for a 2020 release.
