Can you believe the Power Rangers franchise is celebrating 25th years of general awesomeness? When the first episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers debuted back in August 28th, 1993, not a soul could have anticipated the effect the show would have on pop culture and that we’d still be discussing the brightly colored dinosaur-themed superheroes today.

Be that as it may, August 28th is less than a month away, and now that 25 years have elapsed from the beginning until now, that means something special is coming. Longtime Power Ranger fans are already familiar with the concept of bringing together Rangers from the past and present for epic team-ups; it’s happened at various points in Power Ranger lore for other key celebrations.

IGN revealed that the Super Ninja Steel Rangers are going to be getting together with their predecessors to battle the forces of evil and save the world once more. Let it be said, this event is going to be massive. There’s no telling how many former Power Rangers actors will return, but we currently know three who are certainly coming back. First up is Jason David Frank, reprising his role as the most iconic Ranger ever, Tommy Oliver a.k.a. the Green Ranger/White Ranger. Next up is Catherine Sutherland as Kat Hullard, the second Pink Morphin Ranger before becoming the Pink Zeo and Turbo Ranger. Finally, Jason Faunt as Wes Collins, the Red Time Force Ranger will also be a part of the event.

Like previously mentioned, more former Rangers are going to be announced in the coming weeks and the anniversary episode itself will debut on Nickelodeon at 8 p.m. on August 28th. It’s going to be morphinominal!

While you wait anxiously, why not go and pick up the current Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Go Go Power Rangers comics from Boom! Studios? They currently have an amazing storyline going on called Shattered Grid, involving a multi-universal team-up, featuring every Power Ranger ever! Both books are excellent and genuinely deserve your time!
