Ever since Miles Morales appeared in Ultimate Fallout #4 and took up the mantle of Spider-Man in Marvel’s Ultimate Universe, fans haven’t been able to get enough of the young hero. It was only a matter of time until Marvel decided to build a movie around him and they’ve done so with the upcoming Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse feature.
An animated movie with a hyperkinetic visual style, it’s pretty unique when compared to anything that’s come before. For the most part, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse looks like a comic book brought to life, albeit in cartoon form. The movie is also taking some liberties with characters, as seen in the image we have here, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.
One of the Spider-Man’s greatest villains is the Green Goblin, but that won’t stop Miles from delivering a powerful blow (or two) to the comically oversized scaly monster that is the super green baddie. Thankfully, Miles won’t be alone in his battle, as we know both Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen/Spider-Woman will tag along to help the young hero discover his potential.
The movie is scheduled to come out on December 14.
