The monster that reigns supreme over all other monsters, Godzilla is back, baby. Ever since the lackluster 2014 attempt to reintroduce the King of the Monsters to Western audiences in Godzilla, the time has come for a new director (Michael Dougherty) to take the wheel and hopefully deliver the kaiju fest fans have been clamoring for.
The next movie to feature the radioactive dinosaur is Godzilla: King of the Monsters and already we know that fan-favorite monsters like King Ghidorah and Rodan will be part of the monster mash. Today, the first image of Godzilla from Dougherty’s movie was released and it showcases the monster king giving off a blast of his infamous atomic breath.
The pictures came out today over on Entertainment Weekly . Along with the photos, the director also took time to explain the state of the world now that Godzilla is running about doing his thing.
As a life-long Godzilla fan, I’ll see anything with the kaiju king, no matter how bad it is. Sure, my judgment is skewed when it comes to Godzilla, but we all have our faults. Anyhow, Godzilla: King of the Monsters comes out May 31, 2019.
